What happened: Nic Scourton will miss the 2026 season after tearing his right ACL on the first day of training camp. Carolina had expected the second-year edge rusher to start in Ejiro Evero's front.

Why it matters: His absence leaves a thin group of proven edge options competing for snaps. Evero must replace a projected starter as Carolina prepares for the upcoming season.

What to watch: Training-camp reps should clarify which edge rusher emerges as Carolina's secondary sack threat.
