What happened: Liverpool manager Arne Slot publicly assured supporters that "performances and results will improve," per a quote relayed by Fabrizio Romano on Saturday. The statement comes during a turbulent stretch that has included a recent VAR controversy and public friction with senior players. Slot addressed the message directly to fans frustrated by recent results.

Why it matters: The vow lands in the middle of a noisy week at Anfield, with Slot publicly pushing back at Mohamed Salah over standards and earlier blasting VAR after a defeat. With three Premier League matchweeks left, every dropped point reshapes Liverpool's European qualification math and the manager's leverage heading into the summer window. A public commitment from the manager is also a tone-setting move for a dressing room reportedly being asked to back his project.

What to watch: Watch Liverpool's next Premier League fixture for whether the on-pitch response matches the manager's words. Dressing-room reaction from Salah and other senior figures will signal whether Slot's assurance carries internal weight.
