What happened: Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson told Ariel Helwani's live City Winery NYC taping that if he were president he would make it mandatory for everyone to have a fight. Thompson argued there would be 'less shit-talking because everybody would know what it's like to get punched in the mouth.' The quote aired on the Friday-night show presented by FRE Pouch.

Why it matters: The line lands as Thompson, a longtime welterweight contender, has publicly acknowledged he has one fight left on his UFC contract, giving every soundbite added weight for fans tracking his exit. Helwani's NYC taping is also the platform where Dustin Poirier ripped the Chimaev weigh-in this week, underscoring how the show is shaping the UFC 328 fight-week narrative. Thompson's persona as the karate-rooted gentleman of the division makes a 'mandatory fight' bit notable coming from him.

What to watch: Watch for Thompson to clarify the contract status and his next opponent during the taping, and for the clip to circulate ahead of UFC 328 on May 9.
