What happened: Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson appeared on Ariel Helwani's live show Friday evening at City Winery in New York City. The taping, presented by FRE Pouch, also featured Dustin Poirier, Joe Pyfer, and Kyle Daukaus as scheduled guests. Helwani announced Thompson's arrival in real time on social media.

Why it matters: The booking lands on the eve of UFC 328, where the Chimaev-Strickland middleweight title fight headlines Saturday's card. Thompson, a longtime welterweight contender known for his karate-based striking, brings veteran perspective during a marquee fight week. The live format has become a recurring promotional vehicle for Helwani's post-ESPN independent show.

What to watch: Watch for Thompson's commentary on the Chimaev weigh-in controversy and any hints about his own next fight. Full guest interviews are expected to surface in clips over the weekend.
