What happened: The Chicago Bears hosted linebacker Tony Fields II for a workout during mandatory minicamp as the team evaluates veteran options for the 2026 season. Fields II, a 2021 fifth-round pick by the Cleveland Browns, recently earned All-UFL honors as a standout for the Columbus Aviators.

Why it matters: Chicago is seeking linebacker reinforcements after Noah Sewell was sidelined with an Achilles injury and D'Marco Jackson dealt with a minor ailment during camp. Fields II provides valuable NFL experience and special teams versatility for a defense now led by veteran T.J. Edwards following the departure of Tremaine Edmunds.

What to watch: The Bears will likely decide on a potential contract for Fields II before training camp begins in late July.
