What happened: The NFL handed Franklin a one-game suspension for unsportsmanlike conduct in Sunday's 33-30 win over Las Vegas. The league described the violation as a spitting incident.

Why it matters: It is Buffalo's second one-game spitting suspension from the same win, leaving two openings in the secondary for next week. Franklin is in his seventh NFL season out of Temple as of Sept. 29, 2026, after 13 tackles in 17 games in 2025.

By the numbers: Franklin: seventh NFL season (Temple, as of Sept. 29, 2026); 13 tackles in 17 games in 2025. Final: Bills 33-30 over Raiders.

What to watch: The appeal will determine his availability for Buffalo's next game. If denied, both suspended defensive backs remain out.
