What happened: Forwards Bradly Nadeau and Felix Unger Sörum enter the Carolina Hurricanes lineup Saturday for their 2026-27 regular-season debuts. The move comes three days after the Canes recalled Nadeau from the Chicago Wolves.

Why it matters: Both young skaters pushed for NHL jobs during September training camp before roster numbers squeezed them out of the opening-night group. Head coach Rod Brind'Amour noted ahead of the game that both players were capable of making the initial roster and that the staff already knows what they bring.

What to watch: Carolina faces Winnipeg on the road Saturday as part of a 14-game NHL slate, with national broadcast coverage on Sportsnet and Sportsnet+.
