What happened: A former Pro Bowl wide receiver argued that Sanders should get a chance to play for another AFC team. Cleveland ruled out trading him in October.

Why it matters: The Browns are 5-3 through eight games and hold the AFC's eighth seed. They lost 27-6 at Pittsburgh on Nov. 1.

What to watch: Cleveland's roster decisions before the deadline will show whether its position changes.
