What happened: Foote, a 193-centimeter right-shot defenseman, arrives from the AHL's Chicago Wolves. Färjestad sports director Rickard Wallin said the club expects him to strengthen its defense.

Why it matters: Färjestad conducted a review before determining Foote was suitable to represent the club. Foote and four teammates were acquitted in 2025 of sexual assault charges connected to the 2018 World Juniors.

What to watch: Foote's role on the blue line will come into focus when Färjestad opens preseason.
