What happened: With the 50th pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, the New York Jets selected Indiana cornerback D'Angelo Ponds. He reunites with former college teammate Omar Cooper Jr., a wide receiver the Jets drafted in the first round. The Jets acquired the No. 50 pick from the Lions in a trade up to No. 44.

Why it matters: The selection strengthens the Jets' secondary while linking offense and defense through Indiana products. Quick chemistry from the college reunion could accelerate both players' development. New York continues building for the 2026 season with targeted draft picks.
