What happened: Keyonte George said Peterson has stayed humble and open to instruction since arriving as a high pick. Peterson was selected No. 2 and opens his first camp with Utah.

Why it matters: Utah locked George in on a five-year, $157.5 million extension a year before restricted free agency. Pairing that lead guard with Peterson defines the backcourt plan entering 2026-27.

By the numbers: George averaged 23.6 points and 6.1 assists last season; extension spans five years at $157.5 million; Peterson enters as the No.

What to watch: Utah opens camp for 2026-27 with attention on Peterson's role beside George.
