What happened: The New York Knicks have erased a fourth-quarter deficit to tie the San Antonio Spurs in the closing minutes of Game 5 of the NBA Finals. New York entered the final period trailing by seven but surged late to bring the score level as they look to secure the championship on the road.

Why it matters: Leading the series 3-1, the Knicks are one win away from their first NBA title since 1973. The late-game push follows New York's historic 29-point comeback in Game 4, which placed the franchise on the brink of ending a 53-year drought.

What to watch: A Knicks win tonight clinches the NBA championship; a Spurs victory forces Game 6 in New York on Tuesday.
