What happened: Liverpool confirmed defender Carter Pinnington has completed a permanent transfer to West Brom. The move sends the academy centre-back into the Championship after his long spell in Liverpool's youth setup.

Why it matters: The deal trims Liverpool's academy defensive group while giving Pinnington a clearer route toward senior minutes. For West Brom, it adds a young centre-back profile ahead of the upcoming 2026 season.

What to watch: Watch for West Brom's preseason plans and whether Pinnington is integrated with the first-team squad quickly.
