Louis Domingue signs with HC Bolzano in Italy

He brings 144 games of NHL experience

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Aug 11 min read

What happened: The move follows a 2025-26 season split between Sibir Novosibirsk of the KHL and the AHL’s Charlotte Checkers. Domingue previously played two NHL games for Pittsburgh in 2021-22.

Why it matters: Bolzano adds a goaltender who has played parts of 10 NHL seasons. His move overseas follows sharply different results in the KHL and AHL last season.

By the numbers: Domingue went 0-9-2 with an .892 save percentage and 3.83 goals-against average in 11 KHL games. He rebounded to 9-4-0 with an .896 save percentage and 2.21 GAA in the AHL. His NHL record is 61-60-10 with a .906 save percentage and 3.01 GAA.

What to watch: Bolzano’s preparations for the 2026-27 ICEHL season will clarify Domingue’s role in its goaltending rotation.
