Mahomes returns to full Chiefs practice at training camp

Kansas City will evaluate him day to day

Wire Report IntelligenceUpdated Jul 271 min read

What happened: Kansas City cleared Patrick Mahomes for every practice period as camp opened July 25. The quarterback completed the opening workouts with rookies and select veterans.

Why it matters: The clearance gives Mahomes a full camp runway as he pursues his goal of playing in Week 1. It also allows the Chiefs to assess his response as the workload increases.

By the numbers: Mahomes resumed full camp work roughly seven months after a late-December ACL tear ended his 2025 season.

What to watch: Full-team practice begins Wednesday in St. Joseph, marking the next step in his progression.
