Oklahoma expects Michigan's best after 13-12 Week 1 escape

The Sooners opened with a 51-0 win over UTEP

What happened: Oklahoma coach Brent Venables said his team has prepared for Michigan with respect despite the Wolverines' narrow win over Western Michigan. Michigan needed a last-second 47-yard Hail Mary from Bryce Underwood to JJ Buchanan to win 13-12.

Why it matters: The matchup pairs an unbeaten No. 11 Oklahoma team with a Michigan squad under pressure after dropping from the AP Poll. Oklahoma also has issues to correct, with Venables calling for better tackling after the Sooners' opener.

By the numbers: Oklahoma is 1-0 after a 51-0 win over UTEP; Michigan is 1-0 after beating Western Michigan 13-12. The game is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 12, at Michigan Stadium.

What to watch: Watch whether Michigan's defense can contain Oklahoma's offense and whether the Sooners improve their tackling against Michigan's rushing attack.
