What happened: The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Boston Bruins convincingly to go up 3-1 in their first-round playoff series. Buffalo is now one victory away from its first playoff series win since 2007. The win follows their 3-1 victory over the Bruins on April 24.

Why it matters: The Sabres' dominance shifts momentum firmly in their favor, putting the Bruins on the brink of elimination. A series-clinching win would mark a historic breakthrough for Buffalo after nearly two decades without advancing. It heightens stakes for the next game in the Eastern Conference playoff race.

What to watch: Focus on Game 5 as Bruins aim to avoid elimination.
