What happened: Following the trade bringing eight-time Pro Bowl guard Quenton Nelson to the Seattle Seahawks, Albert Breer outlined a projected starting front of Charles Cross at left tackle, Nelson at left guard, third-year center Jalen Sundell, Grey Zabel at right guard, and Abe Lucas at right tackle. Breer added that getting running backs Zach Charbonnet and Jadarian Price back in the lineup alongside the revamped unit will elevate the offense.

Why it matters: Seattle sits at 4-3 on a one-game winning streak and holds the No. 8 seed after a 20-3 win on Oct. 25, making immediate interior protection and run-blocking upgrades critical for the playoff race. Adding Nelson on an expiring contract solidifies the line alongside Sundell and Zabel while the offense navigates injuries at left tackle and in the backfield.

By the numbers: Nelson brings an 85.7 PFF grade (second among NFL guards), six All-Pro selections, and eight Pro Bowl nods since being drafted sixth overall in 2018.

What to watch: Seattle awaits full health to deploy the projected unit, with Cross listed as doubtful due to a high ankle sprain and Charbonnet listed as questionable. Head coach Mike Macdonald said Monday that Price (chest) will be designated for return from injured reserve during Week 8.
