What happened: The Minnesota Twins beat the Texas Rangers 9-3 in the finale in Texas. The result gives Minnesota a 3-0 edge across the clubs' recent meetings, after the Twins also took the prior two games by 4-2 and 12-2. Minnesota controlled the set from start to finish.

Why it matters: The win extends Minnesota's recent surge as the club tries to climb back toward .500 at 35-40, riding a three-game winning streak. Texas, now 35-38, has dropped two straight and continues to hover just below break-even in a crowded AL field.

By the numbers: Recent head-to-head: Minnesota won 4-2 (6/15) and 12-2 (6/16) before the 9-3 finale, a 3-0 run in the meetings. Twins are 35-40 on the season (W3 streak, scoring 4.7, allowing 5.1); Rangers sit 35-38 (L2, scoring 4.0, allowing 4.0).

What to watch: Both clubs return to regular-season play, with Texas looking to snap its skid and Minnesota aiming to keep its winning streak alive.
