What happened: Wilyer Abreu has been selected as a finalist for the 2026 Silver Slugger Award. The recognition highlights the top offensive performers at each position across Major League Baseball.

Why it matters: The nomination follows Abreu winning his third consecutive Gold Glove in right field earlier this week. Securing the offensive honor alongside his defensive hardware would solidify his standing among the league's elite all-around outfielders.

What to watch: Award winners will be revealed following the final vote tallies from Major League managers and coaches.
