What happened: Sunday Night Football on NBC placed the Buffalo Bills atop its latest league hierarchy on Tuesday following the club's bye week.

Why it matters: The ascent returns the team to the top of a national poll after it ceded the No. 1 slot in Yahoo Sports' rankings on Oct. 8. In the official conference standings, the club currently occupies the No. 2 seed.

By the numbers: Buffalo carries a two-game winning streak after recording a 33-30 road victory on Oct. 18.

What to watch: The front office continues to weigh defensive backfield and linebacker trade options as the team returns from its open date for Week 8 regular-season play.
