"He hasn't been good since they won the Super Bowl... Don't expect him to step in there and be Saquon Barkley." @Prisco Via @NFLonCBS on X

What happened: CBS Sports analyst Prisco cautioned against expecting the Philadelphia Eagles' returning running back to step into the lineup and replicate Saquon Barkley's production. On NFL on CBS, Prisco noted that the back has not played at a high level since Philadelphia's Super Bowl victory.

Why it matters: Philadelphia's rushing attack faces heavy scrutiny after Barkley had to create yardage without clean blocking earlier this season. The Eagles reshuffled their practice-squad backfield on Oct. 20 while Barkley's name surfaced in ESPN trade-deadline proposals ahead of the Nov. 10 cutoff.

By the numbers: Per ESPN (as of Sept. 29, 2026), Barkley totaled 280 carries for 1,140 rushing yards and seven touchdowns across 16 games with the Eagles in 2025.

What to watch: Philadelphia has until the NFL's Nov. 10 midseason trade deadline to make any further backfield moves as regular-season play continues.
