What happened: Frank Seravalli, via Yahoo Sports, reported on trade discussion sending Connor Hellebuyck to Edmonton. The suspended Jets goaltender stayed away from camp while a trade request dating to April remains unresolved.

Why it matters: Edmonton enters the 2026-27 preseason with an open question in net while Winnipeg faces a camp standoff days before opening night. A deal would reset both clubs' goaltending depth charts and cap plans for the upcoming season.

What to watch: Watch for Jets camp status updates and whether talks move from reported discussion to finalizing or agreed terms.
