What happened: Philadelphia assigned center Jacob Gaucher to the Lehigh Valley Phantoms on Sunday, utilizing the one-year, two-way contract he signed June 5.

Why it matters: The transaction continues a busy October shuttle between the NHL roster and Lehigh Valley after the club recalled Alex Bump and Knuble on Oct. 19. Earlier in the month, Philadelphia placed Travis Konecny and Cam York on injured reserve while calling up defensemen Oliver Bonk and Hunter McDonald.

What to watch: Gaucher joins the Phantoms for AHL regular-season play and remains eligible for future recall.
