What happened: A joint Instagram post Tuesday from Justin Herbert and Madison Beer carried the caption, “Meet my fiancé.” The couple was first spotted together last August, and Herbert appeared in Beer's “lovergirl” music video this spring.

Why it matters: Herbert enters his seventh NFL season after three postseason exits. The engagement extends a public relationship that has crossed music and football since last summer.

What to watch: Herbert's first training camp practice is scheduled for Wednesday.
